The trip allowed 8 German companies and 9 institutions as well as 5 companies from Morocco to explore business opportunities in Senegal to get acquainted with the economic, political, and associative environment, as well as to promote partnership opportunities in the country. On 1st November, 2021 the German delegation was welcomed by the German Ambassador in Senegal for a political briefing followed by a reception at his residence. A series of conferences were held from the 2nd to the 5th of November in the Novotel hotel, Dakar. On 2nd November, a Symposium was held on economic opportunities in Senegal and the promotion of German technologies, for which the Minister in charge of Monitoring of the Emerging Senegal Plan, Mr. Karim Fofana, delivered the keynote speech. A Round table moderated by our colloeague, Rebecca Tanoh took place with the Senegalese stakeholders (BOS PSE, DGPU, EUROCHAM, APIX, ASN) who briefed the participants on Business and Investment opportunities in Senegal. Finally, German companies presented their products and services and B2B meetings were organized. The Symposium on economic opportunities in Morocco and at the trilateral level took place on the 3rd of November. The General Secretary of the Ministry for Industrial Development and SMEs, Mr. Adama Baye Racine Ndiaye opened the conference and Andreas Wenzel, delegate of AHK Morocco, introduced the following contributions. B2B meetings between German, Moroccan and Senegalese companies were organized after the presentations. The whole event was moderated and organised by Noémie Simon and by Rebecca Tanoh, from the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana. The series of conferences ended on the 5th of November with a Workshop on financing opportunities from relevant organizations (KFW Development Bank, DEG, Africa Business Network, Bank of Africa Senegal, and DS Consulting), and the presentation of GIZ projects and programmes in collaboration with the private sector by various experts and moderated by Ms. Katy Schroeder (GIZ Sénégal et Gambie, Philipp Hahn, Ndéye Fatou Ndiaye GUEYE, Michael Wahl, Robert KOCH, Jules JAGOT). The business trip lasted for 10 days and allowed the visit of different sites, projects, and companies in various fields, such as Bella Rocca, SAGEF, CADA, SenIran, Dangote.
